The ISO110 is a straightforward, easy-to-use product. Just connect it directly to the connectors of the XDS110 debug probe (with supplied ribbon cables) and to your target board's JTAG header. The ISO110 utilizes the 20-pin JTAG cable supplied with the XDS110 Debug Probe along with its pin converters for compatibility and connection to various target JTAG headers.

The ISO110 does expect the target board to provide up to 80 mA of 1.8, 3.3 or 5.0 volts on JTAG pin 5 (TVD) to power the adapter's target side components. The debug probe side is powered by 3.3 volts from the XDS110 Aux port, which is configured in Code Composer Studio.

There are two power LEDs are used on the ISO110. The Emulator Power LED (D1) will illuminate when the XDS110 debug probe supplies power to the ISO110 board. This may not occur until the debug session is launched or a target connect has been initiated by Code Composer Studio. The Target Power LED (D2) will illuminate only when the target board is supplying power (on J3 - Pin 5) AND the XDS110 is supplying power (D1 is illuminated). This means that if the XDS110 is not supplying power to the ISO110, the target power LED will not illuminate even if the target board is supplying power to the ISO110. This is a design element to reduce the power draw on the target side.
